Senior Services Engineer


Position Description

Datacap desires a self-motivated and experienced individual to work in our Professional Services group.  This group is responsible for implementing out-of-the-box and customized solutions using the Datacap Taskmaster suite of applications across all industries.  This individual will deal with customer technical staff and business owners ranging at all levels of seniority.  This individual must be able to communicate the technology solution to non-technical individuals.  The majority of time will be remote-based work, combined with some travel to customer sites.  Travel requirements will vary based on the project but vary between 25% - 45%.  Some evening and weekend work will also be required to support upgrades and go-lives.  This position reports to the Director of Professional Services. Salary is commensurate with experience. 

Responsibilities

  • Implement out-of-the-box and customized solutions using Datacap Taskmaster
  • Create implementation deliverables such as design specifications, technical architecture diagrams, operational guides, and upgrade documentation
  • Provide support to customers during on-going implementations
  • Provide weekly status reports
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision and/or as part of a team
  • Provide technical pre-sales assistance as required

Required Qualifications

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Degree in a related field such as Computer Science/Information Science
  • Five (5) or more years of experience working in information technology
  • Demonstrated ability to continuously learn and master new technologies
  • Experience with Microsoft server technologies (Windows 2000 Server – Windows 2008 Server)
  • Experience with Microsoft workstation technologies (Windows 2000 – Windows 7)
  • Experience with Databases (Access, Microsoft SQL and Oracle)
  • Experience with Microsoft VBScript and .NET technologies
  • Experience with ECM (Enterprise Content Management) technologies such as IBM FileNet, EMC Documentum, Hyland OnBase, Microsoft SharePoint, etc.
  • Experience with enterprise architectures including hardware and software layers

Additional Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with Datacap, Captiva or Kofax solutions
  • Experience with scanner hardware from vendors such as Fujitsu, Kodak, Bowe Bell and Howe, etc. 
  • Industry expertise in fields such as Banking, Credit Unions, Government, Healthcare, Insurance, Manufacturing, Retail and Consumer Services, Telecommunications, etc.
  • Experience with high-availability and disaster recovery techniques
  • Experience with performance analysis and recommendations of enterprise systems
  • Programming and database experience

Technical Support Engineer


Position Description

Datacap desires a motivated individual to work within our technical support organization providing world-class support to all of our customers and partners.  This position will fulfill requirements in first-level and second-level support.  First-level support requires the individual to interface directly with customers in handling new incidents and potentially providing resolution during the initial call where appropriate.  Second-level support requires investigating reported issues, replicating the reported issues, engaging with customers other support team members and development.  This individual must be able to escalate incidents to the correct personnel or support manager as required.  This is a challenging, but rewarding position in that tasks will vary greatly, dealing with technical and business process issues across virtually every industry.  This individual must be able to demonstrate a proven history of self-improvement and the eagerness to continually learn new technologies.  This position requires a 40-hour work week with normal hours of 9:00AM – 5:00PM EST with at least one (1) rotating scheduled late shift of 11:00AM – 7:00PM per week.  In addition, this individual will also assist in providing support for the internal infrastructure including server/workstation hardware, networking and software utilized by Datacap personnel. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to customers, partners and remote employees world-wide
  • Provide technical support to internal staff
  • Resolve complex system configuration, performance, hardware and software issues
  • Be responsible for problem resolution from responding to initial incidents, diagnosing, troubleshooting, and through resolution
  • Provide technical training for new customers; clarify and reinforce product features and ensure that the clients are comfortable using the product
  • Triage and resolve usability and technical issues
  • Independently reproduce customer issues

 

Required Qualifications

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Degree in a related field such as Computer Science/Information Science
  • Experience with Microsoft server technologies
  • Experience with Microsoft workstation technologies (Windows 2000 – Windows 7)
  • Experience with database concepts
  • Some programming or scripting experience
  • Demonstrate patience, judgment, diplomacy and professionalism under all circumstances

 

Additional Desired Qualifications

  • CompTIA A+ Certification
  • Hardware experience with Intel and AMD-based equipment
  • Hardware experience with network equipment and concepts (routers, switches, cabling, network topology) 
  • Experience with VBScript and XML
  • Experience with databases including Access, SQL and Oracle
  • Experience configuring Windows server operating systems, networks and IIS
  • Customer service experience
  • Experience with Enterprise Content Management (ECM) such as IBM FileNet P8, Hyland OnBase, Microsoft Share, EMC Documentum, etc.
