Tarrytown, NY, March 31, 2009 - Datacap, the leading provider of flexible document capture and forms processing software solutions, will offer ABBYY FineReader® as a standard recognition engine in Taskmaster 7.5, the latest version of its award-winning Taskmaster software.
Datacap customers who purchase Standard Recognition Actions with Taskmaster now have the option of using the ABBYY FineReader Engine for common data capture applications such as full page recognition and PDF conversion.
Datacap's Rules Architecture makes it easy to test different recognition engines on different documents, and even different fields within each document by enabling Taskmaster 7.5 users to "test drive" a selection of recognition engines in order to see for themselves how well each engine performs.
Several Datacap customers, including a global defense contractor and a large California county, are currently using the ABBYY FineReader Engine with Datacap's Taskmaster 7.5 as part of their capture solution.
"ABBYY FineReader Engine has proven to be a robust and stable recognition application for our end-users who have large volumes of documents that need to be captured and transformed into searchable PDF content," states Scott Blau, Datacap CEO. "Thanks to the flexibility of Taskmaster 7.5, our users were able to test ABBYY in their application and then easily make the determination that it was the best engine for their application."
ABBYY FineReader Engine provides a full spectrum of recognition technologies with functions that cover four major business areas in a single platform: Full-page text recognition, PDF conversion, field-level (zonal) recognition for keyword classification and indexing and data capture. The application recognizes 22 handwriting styles in different languages and handprints (digit ICR). Developers like Datacap benefit from working in a single, flexible and expandable environment for easy integration with a variety of DMS/ECM applications.
"Datacap's integration of ABBYY FineReader Engine into Taskmaster provides a powerful combined solution to automate workflow and ensure the accuracy of document processing for enterprise customers," said Dean Tang, president and CEO of ABBYY USA. "We are pleased to partner with Datacap to deliver this best-in-class data capture and document management technology."
Taskmaster 7.5 gives support to a number of best-of-breed technologies that expand and simplify capture for end-users, including: Web services for SOA, Microsoft .NET support, document classification and identification and a complete spectrum of recognition and data validation technologies. All of these capabilities are easily configured and managed with Datacap Rules.
