Datacap Capture Conference - July 31 is Last Day For Reduced Registration

The second annual Datacap Capture Conference is rapidly filling up as end-users and reseller partners are racing to get their registrations submitted by July 31 in time to get the reduced rate. This is a reminder that the Early Bird flies on August 1, so if you haven't sent in your registration, move it up on the list of Things To Do Today!

The success of the first Datacap Capture Conference in 2006 created a very high standard. But Datacap is determined to surpass itself. Following the theme "Capture Independence," the 2007 Conference promises a broad range of session content, extraordinary hospitality and unparalleled fun and entertainment.

The second annual Datacap Capture Conference will commence Monday, September 10 at historic Tarrytown House Estate and Conference Center, and wrap up the final breakout session by noon on Tuesday. There will be a special gathering of Datacap Channel partners Tuesday afternoon, September 11.

If you can join us on Sunday, consider playing in the Datacap Golf Outing (co-sponsored by Fujitsu) or take the guided tour of the Rockefeller Mansion nearby.

While the early bird rate will end August 1, registration will remain open until August 17. To learn more or register, visit us online.

Cycle Faster B2B 2007 Summer Activities

Ride for a good cause this summer

Datacap has received overwhelming interest in the Cycle Faster program. The program winds up at ARMA in Baltimore in October, but summer is a great time to help us meet our goal of raising funds for the Lance Armstroing Foundation. This month, we're providing some fun and easy ways to support Lance through Cycle Faster.

Raise Donations - It doesn't hurt to ask for a good cause. Call or e-mail friends, family members and colleagues to contribute. Remember, no donation is too small. Once you sign up to collect pledges, you will be issued a donor page. The donor page allows you to reach out to your contacts on a regular basis, but in a manner that also fits in with your busy schedule. It only takes a few minutes to send out an email. All donations make a powerful impact in the lives of cancer survivors.

Purchase a Cycle Faster Jersey - Cycle Faster custom racing jerseys are great as gifts and are an easy way to support the program. When has fashion and charity ever looked so good? When you purchase a jersey the proceeds go directly to LAF. Your donation is also tax deductible!

Donation Jar - Place a Cycle Faster Donation Jar in your workplace, like the company kitchen! This is a "hands off" way to collect donations. Remember LAF is supported by thousands of grassroots events, so while a donation jar may seem simple, keep in mind that every penny raised whether through an elaborate event or thru a donation jar supports cancer survivorship.

Start your own Cycle Faster Bike-a-thon. Commit to running, walking, cycling or any physical activity and collect pledges per mile. Unsure of how you would calculate miles? Pedometers can be used to calculate mileage. They are also inexpensive and are readily available at a number of retailers nationwide. Also, if you generally exercise in doors treadmills, elliptical machines, steppers and rowing machines calculate mileage. So start moving and collecting pledges!

Donate Season Tickets/Timeshare - Have you purchased season tickets or timeshares rentals that you can't use? Rather than letting them go to waste, raffle these purchases in support of the Cycle Faster program. Start by creating an email regarding the season tickets or timeshare, communicate to the reader that all proceeds will be donated to the Cycle Faster Program. Include seating information or photos and any amenities associated with the purchase. Be sure to set a deadline and finally let recipients bid on the purchase.

All donations are greatly appreciated and will support the efforts of LAF.

"Far and away the best prize that life offers is the chance to work hard at work worth doing." --Theodore Roosevelt

Taskmaster Drives Increased Productivity for Kuehne + Nagel

Capturing Shipping Data for Customs

One of the top three worldwide logistics companies, Kuehne + Nagel significantly increased its turnaround time on Canadian customs invoices with Datacap Taskmaster. Kuehne + Nagel provides sea freight, airfreight, rail, road, and contract logistics and has 46,000 employees and a global network of 830 offices in more than 100 countries.

Kuehne + Nagel Canada, based in Mississagua, Ontario, faced a major challenge in capturing data from commercial invoices for Canadian customs that often include hundreds of pages of line items. With 60 lines on a page and page counts up to 200 pages per document, manual data entry was time-consuming and often inaccurate.

Today, with the help of Datacap Taskmaster, Kuehne + Nagel has significantly increased productivity and efficiency. Sold and implemented by Datacap solutions provider Applied Docs, the Taskmaster solution was installed in January of 2007.

Now Taskmaster helps Kuehne + Nagel capture 7 to 10 fields per line item and maps data to the proper field for customs clearance requirements with a minimum of manual labor. According to Charles Edwards, Project Manager at Kuehne + Nagel " The solution cut manual entry time on customs invoices by a significant factor. With some internal system upgrades, we expect to see even more dramatic results."

Kuehne + Nagel will be presenting their solution at the Datacap Capture Conference. For more information, visit www.datacap.com/conference
