Datacap At AIIM

Showing Off FastDoc Capture

Each spring, the imaging, capture and document management world gathers to present the latest products and concepts at the annual AIIM Expo.  This year, the show is back in Philadelphia (March 31 - April 2) and Datacap will be introducing its latest solution - FastDoc Capture - a new entry-level document indexing product with recognition.

If you're making the trip to AIIM this year, stop by the Datacap booth (#1232) and say hello.  We'll be demonstrating FastDoc Capture along with Taskmaster APT, Taskmaster for Medical Claims and other capture applications in Taskmaster 7.5.

On Wednesday, April 1, Datacap CEO Scott Blau will appear on the ECM Connections panel discussion on Forms Processing, hosted by Vickie Amendola.  She will moderate a talk with several capture vendors on the latest trends in capture.

What is FastDoc Capture?

While Datacap Taskmaster is a robust capture platform capable of the most demanding capture applications, Datacap resellers have asked for a simple document indexing capture product that enables them to market an entry-level capture solution.

Datacap has responded with FastDoc Capture, which offers automated indexing with OCR recognition, a few data validations, and standard release to SharePoint.  FastDoc Capture will compete with other entry-level capture products, and yet deliver recognition and easy set-up for a very competitive price point.

Organizations scanning records, contracts, policies and government documents, who simply want to capture index data from machine printed forms will find FastDoc Capture easy to implement and use. Should a FastDoc Capture user decide they want to step up to a full-featured data capture solution, upgrading to Taskmaster will be very straightforward.

"FastDoc Capture is definitely something new for Datacap," says Scott Blau, Datacap CEO. "We have always tried to listen to the needs of our Channel partners and we believe we have provided a very competitive product. FastDoc Capture is fast to install, fast to use, and fast to deliver a great ROI."

If You're in Transportation or Logistics, Datacap Wants You

Take The New Scan and Capture Survey

Datacap is conducting a worldwide survey of the scanning and capture practises in the transportation and logistics industries. There has never been a complete study on imaging for this industry, and this survey, which focuses solely on scanning, capture and document management, will be a revealing snapshot of the state of the sector today.

Take the survey (it takes five minutes) by clicking here.

Transportation and lgistics companies must cope with extreme amounts of paperwork, between manifests, invoices, payroll, expense reports, proofs of delivery, EPA and customs compliance documents. In the case of international shipments, each destination country has its own requirements for data on the contents of shipments that must be presented at the border or port of entry.

Add to that, the United States is crafting a new regulation, known as 10 + 2, which will put additional burdens on shippers and freight forwarders to provide information when bringing goods into the U.S.

Datacap wants to know how the industry is handling its documents and what automation strategies are being used to manage costs and meet compliance. The results will be published later this Spring and made available to the industry and press.

When you complete the online survey, your name will be entered into a drawing to win a $100 gift certificate from American Express and you'll be registered to receive the report as soon as it is published.

New To Capture? Visit Capture 101 Online

Datacap breaks it down for you

New people and organizations keep discovering the benefits of imaging and capture, especially in these cost conscious times.  Like any well established industry, however, the terminology of capture can be daunting. Mastering the acronyms (ECM, OCR, OMR, MFP), technical concepts (templates, simplex scanning, validations) and product names (ISIS, TWAIN, MOSS) can take years.

Datacap built a primer into its website to help people get up to speed as quickly as possible.  Click here to get started.  You'll find a glossary of common capture terms and a step-by-step description of the capture process, from scanner drivers to the difference between OCR and ICR to automated validations and how they work.

If you don't find what you're looking for or if you have a suggestion to improve our online Capture Primer, let us know by sending an e-mail to marketing@datacap.com.
