Datacap Conference Delivers Capture Excellence

First Annual Get Together Featured a Healthy Turnout and Exciting Programs in an Elegant Setting

Datacap's first annual Capture Conference was held on September 25 and 26th and the reviews are enthusiastic. Nearly 100 users, resellers and technology partners - some from as far as Australia, Malaysia and Indonesia - convened at the posh Tarrytown House Conference Center for education, networking and a lot of fun!

Datacap CEO Scott Blau presented the road ahead for Datacap Taskmaster.

Datacap CEO Scott Blau provided a preview of the forthcoming Taskmaster 7, demonstrated the Web Service implementation that won a "Best Of Show" Award at AIIM this year, and introduced the new auto-indexing and classification solution, known as Datacap Wordfire. Keynote speaker Pamela Doyle of Fujitsu highlighted Datacap customers SIRVA, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona and Sharp Healthcare, among others, for their innovative approach to ECM.

The Tarrytown House Conference Center proved to be the ideal setting with luxurious settings, exquisite food, a variety of meeting areas and world class accomodations. Among the technology partners who helped sponsor the conference were Fujitsu, OnBase, Panasonic, Parascript, Canon, Westbrook, DocuWare, Bowe Bell + Howell, Filebound, Kodak, Oce, Kofax, and Visioneer.

Sessions Covered All Aspects of Capture

Datacap was joined by channel and technology partners to deliver a full curriculum of sessions, covering every aspect of capture, from invoice processing and claims processing to autoclassification and increasing recognition accuracy. Datacap customers BMI and Kansas City Board of Public Utilities also presented detailed case studies of their Datacap applications.

The spacious Mary Duke Ballroom was filled with customers and resellers from around the world.

Datacap User Advisory Council

The Datacap Advisory Council met at the Datacap Capture Conference to officially launch the Datacap User Group. The Council established that the primary goal of the User Group will be to share information to enhance the benefit of Datacap solutions. Customer experiences and tips and tricks will be shared through a variety of vehicles, including webinars, knowledge bases, discussion groups, case studies, FAQ's, and sessions at next year's user conference.

Leadership of the council will rotate on a quarterly basis, starting with volunteers Eric Lohr, Sharp Healthcare and Steve Emrick, BMI.  A web page for the User Group will be posted shortly, but in the meantime, if you are interested in joining the user group contact us at marketing@datacap.com

Lots of Opportunities to Have Fun

In addition to education and networking, Datacap provided a series of events that took advantage of Tarrytown's proximity to New York City and the amenities of the lower Hudson Valley.  Some attendees visited West Point, while others played in a golf outing at Hudson Hills Country Club, sponsored by Fujitsu. One dinner featured a tour of New York State's most well-known cuisine, including chicken wings from Buffalo, strip steaks from New York, seafood from Long Island and vegetarian delicacies from Woodstock.

Monday night's entertainment featured a live band playing original songs from the Off-Broadway rock opera "Reasons To Live" and comedians from downtown New York City. The evening climaxed when two belly dancers appeared, each with a tray of lit candles balanced on their head, to dance through the audience.

Attendees enjoyed the best food New York State has to offer in a luxurious outdoor setting overlooking the Hudson River

Comments are coming in and they are overwhelmingly positive. For example: "Everyone that I talked to stated they had a great time and the conference exceeded their expectations by far!," said Jack Roberts, co-founder of Datacap channel partner Cutting Edge Solutions. "Thanks again and I am really looking forward to the next conference and the next release of Taskmaster software!"

ShowValue Processes Attendee Surveys with Taskmaster

Datacap took the unique opportunity to involve a valued customer in a very important capacity for its user and reseller Capture Conference this month - capturing and processing survey data using Datacap Taskmaster software.

A Datacap customer since 2003, ShowValue brings a combined 85 years sales and marketing experience and 50 years managing and implementing trade shows and events to measurement planning, question development, typesetting and survey forms printing, processing and analysis.

ShowValue provided a complete solution for Datacap by first applying their seven steps to measurement success including: defining measurable objectives; developing measurement plan; creating survey instruments; capturing data; tabulating results; performing business analysis; and producing executive report. ShowValue's experienced principals assisted in the development of survey questions, printed the forms and finally captured the survey data and tabulated results using Datacap Taskmaster.

Datacap will be able to use this valuable information to evaluate performance and learn how to best serve its customers' needs in future conferences.
