Datacap Reusable Rules enable you to easily plug and play these best of breed technologies by choosing them from our library of Rules. Since Datacap Rules are VB Script-based, you can modify or create your own to support additional best of breed technologies.

Higher Accuracy for Unstructured Forms Processing

Datacap Rules are ideal for locating data on "unstructured" forms, like invoices, shipping documents, mortgage documents, insurance files, and Explanation of Benefits (EOBs).

Datacap Rules allow YOU to control how data is located on each page. In a point and click interface, you can direct the processing to find fields by navigating the page. Without rules, you have to rely on your software vendor to understand all the possible ways your invoices work and then to deliver a "black box" solution.

Datacap Rules are "Open"

A rule is a discrete set of actions, controlled by logic, designed to accomplish a function. An extensive Rule Library is included with Taskmaster, containing hundreds of pre-built rules to implement a data capture system at every level, including batch, document, page and field levels. With Datacap’s Rule Library it’s easy to create a new rule by simply choosing the elements that you need. Datacap Rules are based on standard Microsoft VBScript, so they can easily be modified or created to meet or adapt to changing business requirements. Rules can run automatically or only after specified events. Rules can also be easily "packaged" and re-used. The types of rules available include:

  • Email actions
  • Export actions
  • Locate actions
  • Look-up actions
  • Recognition actions
  • Validation actions

You can add as many rules as you need to accommodate different variations in forms. For example, a rule could be set up to recognize a social security number, either by its format or by looking for keywords. Then, another rule could be set up to remove dashes that people often place among the string of numbers.
