What’s New in Taskmaster for Medical Claims 7.6

Expanded Flexibility

Taskmaster 7.6 for Medical Claims manages the entire capture process, from scanning of claims forms, enhancement of the images to increase recognition accuracy, recognition of data fields, validation and verification of data. Accurate claim data is routed to adjudication systems for payment while images are forwarded with index data to content management systems for efficient storage and retrieval. The solution eliminates costly, error-prone manual data entry and accelerates claim processing.

Taskmaster for Medical Claims 7.6 brings the latest innovations in Taskmaster and Rulerunner Service to bear on the task of claims processing. This new version is the first to take advantage of Datacap's Rulerunner Service architecture, with recognition, validation, and export rules configured in the Datacap Studio environment. Professional (CMS 1500) forms and Institutional (UB04) forms are now processed in separate workflows. Taskmaster for Medical Claims easily captures data from "red" dropout images, which leaves only the data on an image, yet new capabilities also deliver effective capture of so-called "black" claims, which have been copied or faxed, and therefore contain not only the data, but also the lines and boxes.

Rulerunner Service Architecture

Taskmaster 7.6 for Medical Claims is built with the Datacap Studio development and test environment, first introduced in Taskmaster version 7. Datacap Studio provides an enhanced environment for creating and maintaining Datacap Rules. Rulerunner Service architecture also makes Taskmaster for Medical Claims compatible with future Datacap products, such as Datacap DotEdit - a .NET-based verification panel builder.

Supports Taskmaster Web

Taskmaster Web can be used for scanning of claims, browser-based verification, application administration and reporting. Web-based scanning and verification are valuable tools for distributed claims processing. Web-based administration allows supervisors to manage production anytime, anywhere. In general Taskmaster Web reduces the cost of application installation and administration.

Targets New Claim Forms

This release is focused on the latest claim forms: CMS 1500 Professional claim forms and UB04 Institutional claim forms. These new forms replace the HCFA 1500 and UB92. All National Provider Identifier (NPI) fields as well as the supplementary Info fields on Professional claims are also captured.

Enhanced Claims Processing Interface

The enhanced Fixup task has convenient hotkeys, dropdown menus, and increased automation to speed claim verification. The thick client Verify screen displays Professional claim service lines one at a time for easier verification. Individual field picture strings may be defined for improved verification.

Improved Claims Processing

An updated ICR/C (Recostar) recognition engine improves recognition, reducing operator time and effort for verification.
